How does it work?

HOTTIE is a fully self-contained hot water system with its own water tank and pump. Simply fill it up, set your desired temperature (up to 140°F), and press start.

HOTTIE will recirculate the same water until it reaches your chosen temperature (around 5 minutes) - delivering every drop at perfect, consistent heat. Whether you’re showering, rinsing off gear, or washing up, it’s ready when you are.

But a tankless option doesn't have any waiting time!

True - but off-grid, you usually don't have anywhere to be. In the time Hottie’s heating up, you can get your towel, set up your gear, or round up the kids. Waters' what you need to worry about. And because of the short warm up period, you save every drop.

How much water does it hold?

HOTTIE’s 3.2-gallon reservoir is perfectly sized for two great showers or one long, luxurious one.

By pausing the water flow between rinsing and lathering, you can stretch it even further - thanks to HOTTIE’s recirculation design. Every drop is pre-heated, so there’s no wasted water during startup, adjustments, or pauses.

HOTTIES tank just isn't big enough for my family

HOTTIE'S tank is built for two good showers or one great one. Need more? Refill (from any water source), press go, and it’s hot again before your next kid tracks down a towel. Oh, and it keeps the kids from emptying your entire water supply - miracle technology!

What gas does it use?

HOTTIE runs on standard 1lb propane canisters. Each canister heats up to 24 gallons of water to shower temperature - that’s roughly 15 showers. The compact gas hose and canister conveniently store inside the HOTTIE reservoir when not in use. Prefer a larger setup? No problem. HOTTIE also works with 20lbs gas tanks - you’ll just need a compatible hose and regulator to suit.

How do I power the HOTTIE?

HOTTIE uses 12V power to run its electronics and built-in pump. Included is a cigarette-style power cable, perfect for plugging directly into your vehicle’s 12V socket.

You can also power it with the Joolca Power Bank or any other suitable portable power source.

Can I use water from wild sources like a river or lake?

Yes. HOTTIE features a two-stage filtration system - a removable debris filter for larger particles and a fine mesh filter that protects the internals for long-term reliability.

How hot does the water get?

Up to 140°F. Even starting with icy water, HOTTIE will heat it right up to your chosen temperature.

Absolute game changer for camping hot water systems...

I was lucky enough to recieve one of the first few units to test and review and was genuinely impressed by how well it works. It took less than 5 minutes to get the water from 27-50 degrees, and the 12L capacity is easily enough for 2x camping showers (my partner and I have just finished our first lap of Australia and we used 5L each per shower on average).

Where this new recirculating system is better than the older "instantaneous" systems is with zero water wastage - we wasted a lot of water on our travels by waiting the initial few seconds for the instantaneous system to heat up, whereas the water is already at the perfect temperature the second you turn the switch with the HOTTIE.

An all-round brilliant product with everything thought of (and the fact that everything packs away inside is a bonus!!).

So Joolca sent us the HOTTIE to take to Moreton Island and test. We absolutley loved it!

It completely blew away every portable hot water service I've ever used.
It only takes a couple of minutes to heat the water up to your EXACT temperature, you get a great shower (or 2) out of it, it's got an adjustable flow in the shower head, everything you need for a great shower off grid.

I had the Hottie for beta testing and took it away with my camping group. The few people that used it were extremely impressed with it. The ease of set up and the speed of the water warming was amazing! The added control once under the shower was very appreciated. Cannot recommend it enough. Then again all the Joolca equipment is the best.

I’ve had a Beta unit of the Joolca Hottie for over 10 months now, and I still use it most weekends. I absolutely love this thing — I honestly can’t recommend it enough.

I also own two Hottaps, which I use in different setups, but the Hottie is just next level. It’s smaller, easier to pack and carry, and just so user-friendly. The shower time is great, and it’s held up really well in all sorts of weather — its resistance to wind is fantastic.

I’ve run it off both the Joolca battery and Milwaukee 12V batteries, and it works perfectly with either. It’s just such a solid, reliable bit of gear that makes camping and weekends away so much easier.

If you’re thinking about getting one — do it. You won’t regret it.
